Nucoustix Entertainment offers Home Theater Speaker systems that sound great and look great. This is not a compromise but rather an innovation. We want to bring theater-like performance into your home without forcing you to make your home look like a theater.
Once you decide to set up a home theater, your choices are typically based on size and cost. You can purchase large expensive speakers that provide a full movie experience, but they dominate the decor; or you can opt for small, unobtrusive speakers that just don’t perform. The lure of small speakers is so great for many people that they choose both tiny and expensive.
The issues involving large speakers are obvious. They become the focus of your room. For audiophiles this is precisely the point. They want their components to be the center of attention. Most people, however, don’t share this opinion. They view speaker size as a major concern. The introduction of home theaters with five or more speakers only makes the situation more critical.
Home-Theater-in-a-Box systems have different issues. Initially, they are very impressive. Multiple speakers provide a surround sound effect that puts you in the middle of the action. Surround sound drastically improves the overall movie experience. And, tiny speakers are easy to hide. It’s hard to imagine anything better. But after a while you notice you’re holding on to the remote control while watching movies. With a Home-Theater-in-a-Box, quiet passages require higher volume settings so you can hear and understand the dialog. But when the sound effects start, it’s much too loud.
Nucoustix Entertainment provides a real solution. The Opus 1 line of Home Theater Speaker Systems produce full soundtrack reproduction at a single comfortable listening volume. Yet their size is relatively small (but not tiny). What makes Nucoustix Entertainment Home Theater Speakers unique is the quality and quantity of cabinet finishing options. Rather than trying to hide your speakers, you now have the opportunity to integrate loudspeakers into your room’s decor without focusing attention on them.
Because of your cabinet’s color and texture, they can fit into an existing room as pieces of fine furniture. Or you may choose a look that turns your speakers into elegant room accents. We encourage you to incorporate both design criteria in a single system. The front, rear and subwoofer speakers may be ordered with individual finishing options. No longer do you have to contend with multiple similar looking boxes. Even if a speaker looks great, it’s probably not the right look throughout your room.
Textured metal finishes are the most popular for front speaker cabinets. These main speakers, regardless of mounting (wall, pedestal or shelf), need to complement the video display and usually an entertainment center or stand. As you can see, we have the silver, pewter and black options frequently preferred for their high-tech look. But these basic colors are augmented with other familiar metals such as gold, copper and bronze.
This completes a set of 6 metallic colors that can be found in decors ranging from antique through traditional to modern. But that’s not the end. There are three other colors reminiscent of jewels for the more bold and daring. They are available in the light pastel shades of rose, jade or turquoise as well as the richly saturated colors of ruby, emerald and sapphire. That’s a total of 12 different colors, all of which have a lustrous sheen but with a pounded metallic texture that begs to be touched.
Usually the rear speakers of a home theater occupy a visual environment completely different from the front speakers. They need to be integrated into surroundings defined by wall colors and furniture fabrics. The subdued colors of suede and rock textured finishes provide dozens of opportunities for choosing just the right look. The suede cabinet finishes have a soft “fuzzy” feel, while rock is “hard” with a more pronounced texture.
However, these non-lustrous finishes aren’t only for the rear speakers. Front wall mounted speakers such as the Romanesque and Gothic models can be designed to complement the surroundings rather than the video display's furnishings. A suede cabinet finish may be more appropriate for your wall colors or displayed collectables. And don’t overlook the Byzantine subwoofer cabinet with a rock finish for a distinguished faux stone presentation.
The cover fabric is another important aspect of your speaker’s look. Normally you have no choice and must accept whatever fabric the manufacturer provides. And once that selection is made you are stuck with it for the life of the speakers. Our custom ordering method allows you to pick the fabric that best fits your design requirements. Currently we offer a choice of four basic fabric colors. In the coming weeks we will increase our offering to include many other colors and fabrics. Also, we give you the opportunity to order replacement covers at any time. So you can quickly and easily change the look of your speakers as you change your room’s decor.
Finally, to complete the list of options we offer a palette of 32 colors in semi-gloss and satin lustrous finishes. These choices are perfect when you want that non-textured, silky smooth feel to you speaker cabinets.
Typically a speaker manufacturer provides only a few finishing options. But even then, all the cabinets will have the same look. We offer literally hundreds of color, fabric and texture possibilities. The audio design is thoroughly tested to produce great sound. Now you can add your personal touch to create a unique home theater speaker system that you will be excited to hear and proud to display.
At Nucoustix Entertainment we design the sound - you design the look.
